A Three Recipe Night

We went to a party tonight and with Thomas’ and my ubiquitous food restrictions I decided to bring some soy-free, egg-free, garlic-free veggie burgers for us to enjoy.

When we first suspected that Thomas had issues with soy I came up with a great soy-free black bean burger recipe. Unfortunately, Thomas was subsequently diagnosed with a severe allergy to eggs and one of the key ingredients in the burgers was egg. Since then I have tried to create the perfect veggie burger to no avail. One of the recipes resulted in a tasty but crumbling mess of beans; another left us with what looked like a steaming pile of bean poo. None of them were fit to put in any cookbook. Tonight, however, I think I have finally developed a winner.

Seeing as how we still have an obscene amount of cherries I also made a cherry crisp to bring along by modifying my favorite apple crisp recipe.

And now for the bonus recipe…the apple crisp recipe that I based the cherry crisp off of.

Easy Apple Crisp

I think that is enough cooking for one night. Besides, I have some more cherries to pit and freeze. Sigh.
