Better than Christmas!

More on the economy coming soon, but I just had to share my awesome find with all of you.  I stopped by the library yesterday to pick up a couple of books I had on hold.  There was a small sign posted about a book sale so I asked about it and was led back to three full floor-to-ceiling shelves of withdrawn library books for sale.  I found 22 books for Thomas, 20 of them hardbacks.  Total cost:  $2.  Two dollars.  Over $200 worth of books for $2.  It was better than Christmas day for a frugal used bargain hunter like myself.

    Dear Gina,
Well, I went shopping today at a sidewalk sale in a plaza we have here called Lincoln center. I really only went there at 8:30 for the free coffee and doughnuts, however, I found some great bargains. I bought 5 pairs of shoes at a really nice shoe store for a total of $50, included a pair of Italian loafers orig. priced at $200 and a pair of Rockport walking shoes. Then I found a rack of clothes at a really nice clothing store for $5.00 and $10.00. I got some great slacks and some pretty tops and even a dress – total amount of original prices was $780! I only bought things I can wear to work. I paid $90 for them all! I can’t get things at that price even at Goodwill. I try to buy at the Thrift Stores when I can, but sometimes they just don’t have what you want. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and I feel like I got a lot for my money. And I paid cash – no credit card! Love, Mom
