I was just discussing allergies at a local bar!
The bartendress thought she had built resistance to them, only for them to apparently come back this season!
I was able to outgrow mine, chocolate, cats, orange, a long time ago.
I think the young, small, but growing, body isn't ready to tackle every challenge early on. And that's the norm.

I'm totally with you on this is one. A "special table" I don't even know where to begin on what a bad idea I think that is. You want to eat with your friends not at a "special table". Do they already monitor the "special table" to see no one shares? If so why not the rest of the lunch area.

There was an Advice Smackdown post about this a few weeks ago but for daycare not school. Responses ran the spectrum from moms who wanted their kid at the special table to moms who didn't, moms who were aghast at the idea of banning bake sales on behalf of their kid and moms who were aghast that someone would want to have a bake sale knowing food-sensitive kids might partake. I read it eagerly to get familiar with allergies because even though Ev doesn't have any (that we know of), her friends will/do and I ended up feeling like it's totally no-win for everyone. The food allergy conference sounds like a great idea. I wonder if you can also do some research on what other schools do. How do schools successfully implement no-sharing? What do the private/religious schools do since they do not have a nurse or lunch service? What about the neighboring districts?
