This made me think through what’s been slowing down my gardening this season with a now 7 month old. I’m happy to have her play in the dirt (having an older toddler means she picks up plenty of this, even in the house :) – but I am oddly reluctant to get her dirty MYSELF. So, I’ve been shying away from planting and digging activities, because they require a dash into the house to wash my hands if she needs picked up. So, thanks for making me realize that’s silly!

Your last paragraph reminded me of last year – I was pondering why there were 2 labels next to a plant, when I looked around and realized some peppers had tomato labels. My toddler had helped me plant and stick in the labels, and the next day he thought they needed a little reorganizing :)
